Meet Your Copilot, Ryan 👨🏼🚀🚀

As a meditation guide and space holder for healing, I support seekers, healers, and therapists in expanding their awareness—guiding them deep into the mind to uncover and release the unconscious roots of suffering.
In 2018, I hit rock bottom with anxiety and depression, which led me to take a leap of faith, leaving Corporate America without a plan. As I began to trust my authentic self, a path of serendipity and discovery unfolded. My journey has led me to train with underground psychedelic guides, modern healers and meditation teachers from Vedic and Indo-Tibetan lineages. Through this transformative work, I’ve experienced profound shifts—from chronic illness to bodily regeneration, from suicidal despair to meditative joy, and from crippling shyness to self-expression (including the occasional playful antics as a polar bear).
My ongoing spiritual awakening continues to reveal and dissolve subtler layers of suffering, bringing ever-deeper healing into my life. I now reside in an eco-village surrounded by wilderness that feels like a real-life Shire from The Lord of the Rings, and I celebrate under meteor showers at psychedelic micro-festivals of my own creation. Sounds way better than office life, right? It absolutely is; and, I know many others are meant to embark on their own path of self-discovery. It’s time to create the more beautiful life—and world—our hearts know is possible.
My Experience and Training
Meditation Experience
I am a dedicated twice-daily practitioner of meditation, drawing from Vedic and Indo-Tibetan traditions. My studies are guided by esteemed teachers such as John Churchill, Rupert Spira, and Thom Knoles, with whom I commit over 500 hours annually to study, training, retreats, and practice.
Psychedelic Experience
Each year, I continue my own journey of psychedelic exploration and mentorship, working with experienced guides and attending group retreats and trainings. I have spent years immersed in underground, experiential psychedelic training under the guidance of seasoned facilitators. Before stepping into my own role as a guide, I apprenticed with two experienced guides, assisting in both one-on-one journeys and group retreats.
Beyond this, my learning is enriched by Hakomi Mindfulness-Centered Somatic Psychotherapy, parts work, energy work, and various bodywork disciplines.
Nature Experience
I live in deep connection with the natural world, residing in a hand-built cob hut within an eco-village surrounded by national forest. I drink pure spring water directly from the land and source 100% of my food from farmers I know personally. This way of living—immersed in nature, nourished by clean water and real food—has profoundly healed my body.
Other Experience
My journey also includes training in Aikido (the “harmonious way”) and expressive movement through contact improv and partner fusion dance. On the eco-village, I’m learning to build earthen structures—and how to avoid getting kicked by horses.
Our Relationship
I call myself a copilot because I strive to create a relationship free from hierarchical power dynamics, akin to the symbiotic bond between a sunflower and a hummingbird. At the deepest level, I recognize that we are one consciousness, simply perceiving through two sets of eyes.
As an ally on this journey, I bring experience and skill, having navigated many deep missions in the realm of spiritual development. My knowledge and guidance flow freely; monetary compensation is simply an exchange that supports both my livelihood and the energetic investment in our work together.
Tools I Work With
Heal and transform with the potent tools of meditation, nature and psychedelics. With intelligent integration, the combination of these tools transcends the sum of its parts.
Meditation
-
Beginners perspective
A telescope needs a stable tripod to see clearly into the night’s sky. Meditation practice will stabilize and sharpen your ability to focus awareness and stay with the details of experience. Without this stabilization of your attention, you won’t be able to deeply inspect the nature and content of your mind, just as a poorly-focused telescope will not yield much insight about the nature of space.Advanced Perspective
Meditation allows you to become incrementally more established in your essential nature—consciousness. When you settle the mind and go beyond thought, you transcend the mind. You experience your essential nature, as consciousness, which is the source of thought itself. Resting in this state is known as Pure Consciousness or Pure Being. It is a state of supreme contentedness or wholeness. In this state of wholeness, your body enters a state of rest deeper than sleep where it can release irrelevant stresses and repair itself.
Becoming more established in a baseline of wholeness reveals that you already are the wholeness for which you seek because one’s essential nature, as consciousness, is already whole and complete. Upon this realization, the separate self can give up its search for completing its perceived incompleteness through the objective world of material pursuits, activities and relationships.
Nature
-
Nourishing the body is foundational for spiritual growth. For any root structure to establish security and resiliency in its environment, it must have a nourishing environment. There is no separation; the health of the body is a direct product of the health of the environment.
Together, we’ll look at your relationship to food, water and sunlight and how you can build a regenerative body which repairs itself faster than any rate of damage. We will reconnect your body to its natural environment, attuning to circadian rhythms, sourcing food from regenerative farms and drinking wild spring water. Through rewilding your body you will become a regenerative force of healing, immune to disease and primed for spiritual growth.
Psychedelics
-
Beginners Perspective
We use psychedelics to deeply introspect the content of the mind. Just as telescopes reveal the content of space, psychedelics reveal the content of mind. It's much more effective to look through a telescope to learn about space than to look through the naked eye. You can’t see what you can’t see and psychedelics reveal the unseen. Once the unknown is known, you can consciously choose the actions and behaviors which lead to less suffering and more happiness.
Advanced Perspective
Psychedelics are very effective tools for collapsing the identity of the suffering, limited self, thereby producing experiences of reduced suffering and a more liberated self.
Where is meditation relevant where psychedelics are not? Many people think psychedelics allow you to experience your essential nature directly, but this is a misconception. One’s essential nature is consciousness isolated by itself, aware of itself— also referred to as pure consciousness. Essential nature transcends time and space. It knows nothing but itself and it's not an exotic or colorful experience like the psychedelic experience. While psychedelics can certainly thin the veil of the content of mind that obscures essential nature, they don’t allow you to experience your essential nature directly, as pure consciousness. Instead, meditation is the appropriate tool for resting as the source of the mind—pure consciousness, our essential nature.
Our work together
We’ll explore the following areas utilizing the powerful tools of meditation, nature and psychedelics.
-
Release Stress & Trauma
If you are on this planet, you are a survivor. The multi-generational stress load in the physiology distorts one’s perception of reality. When you feel awful and stressed on the inside, this inner experience gets projected onto external experience. The inner stress experience then becomes mirrored by an outer stress experience that reifies the inner stress experience. This negative feedback loop keeps you stuck in the same ever-repeating pattern of stressful thoughts, actions, and behaviors. As you purify the stress from your physiology, your experience shifts. Better thoughts lead to better actions and behaviors. Let’s spiral up instead of down. Let’s move from a life of surviving to a life of thriving.
-
Reframe Old Stories & Remove Negative Beliefs
“The most important decision we make is whether we believe we live in a friendly or hostile universe.” -Einstein
Consciousness becomes what it sees. What you think, you become. You think you see reality but you only see the reality you’ve constructed. Through expanding awareness, you can begin to highlight and delete negative core beliefs that no longer serve the reality you wish to experience.
When you expand awareness, your perception of reality changes. You begin to reframe the hardships. Problems and difficulties seen from one perspective can be seen as gifts and the shaping mechanisms of growth from a wider perspective. You tend to label an event as "bad" when you don't know the next part of the story. Let's wait and see what this event looks like in hindsight. The "bad" event may have been just the thing you needed to catalyze a transformation leading to a state of thriving. After every dip in life, there is a rise. There is always another chapter. What can you alchemize? What past experiences can you turn into gold?
-
Regenerate the Body
Your body is a print-out of your consciousness state. When you have happy thoughts, you print out a “happy” body. When you have stressed thoughts, you print out a “stressed” body. A stressed body is likely to be in a diseased state--a state of dis-ease. When you expand awareness, you become aware of the causes of good health and you see, with clarity, how the laws of nature influence bodily health. You see the relationship between bodily health and water, food, and sunlight. When the rate of regeneration and repair exceeds the rate of disintegration and damage, your body becomes a regenerative force of healing. Rewild yourself and reconnect with nature. Be part of the regenerative minority, instead of the sick majority. Achieve health outcomes not available within allopathic (Western) medicine.
-
Cultivate Self Intimacy
Your experience with yourself will be as tender, compassionate, and loving as you intend and allow it to be. All outer relations come back to the relationship with the self—the inner work. It starts with a deep listening to hear the inner voice. When you heed its whispers and calling, you begin the journey of becoming whom you are meant to become. There is a cosmic plan for you. Cultivating a deep intimacy with self will reveal the blueprint of this plan.
-
Expand Awareness & Reduce Suffering
Awareness, the unified consciousness field, is the source of all knowledge. Knowledge is embedded within awareness. As you expand awareness beyond the finite mind, more knowledge is held within your awareness. As you expand into more knowledge, suffering is decreased because you become more and more aware of all the actions and behaviors that result in suffering. Through expanding awareness and gaining knowledge, you can disengage from activities which result in suffering. Thus, life becomes increasingly frictionless — a smoother, more joyful experience.
-
Express Yourself
You are the universe, embodied. As you expand awareness, release stress, remove negative beliefs, heal and cultivate an inner intimacy with yourself, life becomes more free and joyful. Established in a baseline of happiness, you now have the capacity to find outlets to channel your cosmic essence. Life is for living and expressing, after all. Where does your expression want to take you? Singing? Dancing? Sexual expression? Claim your joy. Claim your expression. There is no greater pleasure or service to the web of life than being yourself.
